The Pac-10 clusterfuck hurt them,. They all have three losses and I'm a believer in head-to-head being the barometer and it went round and round because of that. I'd need about six spots to get them all in. This coming weekend will probably put the Beavers back in, since Cal-Stanford and Oregon-Arizona sould shake some things out.

I understand head-to-head and all, but to the degree that you punish someone for winning big because a team they lost to happen to lose? Oregon State's in last week, so what did they do to deserve to NOT be in?

Here's my view: one, I had Oregon State at 25, so it wasn't like I knocked them way down to be out of the poll.

Now, here's the clusterfuck, assuming you can't rank someone ahead of another because of head-to-head.
    Arizona (Iowa, Washington, Cal)
Stanford (Wake Forest, Oregon State, Arizona)
    Southern Cal (Washington, Oregon, Stanford)
Oregon State (Cincinnati, Arizona, Southern Cal)
Cal (Oregon, Southern Cal, Oregon State)

Oregon State has lost to both USC and Arizona, so I would have to put both of them in before OSU. But then I'd have to put Stanford in as well, but where since it lost to.....and round and round we go.

Houston's shitty defense might make it appropriate to move them out and make a spot.

I keep a spreadsheet in which you could take spots 6-46 and draw 'em out of a hat.

(It was only going to be 40 deep but it grew.)

Della, Stanford has scored 106 points the last two weeks against the No. 7 and No. 11, and won both, including at USC.

Not sure I agree with this, even if it is No. 25. Too many other cupcakes and just one win against a ranked team.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) — For the first time in more than two years, Rutgers is ranked among the top 25 teams in college football.

Coming off a 31-0 pounding of then-No. 23 South Florida in a nationally televised game Thursday night, the Scarlet Knights narrowly edged North Carolina to earn the 25th spot in The Associated Press poll released Sunday. Rutgers (7-2) finished with 145 points overall, while North Carolina had 144.

The last time Rutgers was in the AP top 25 was 2007, when they were ranked for seven weeks before falling out in late October.

This week's ranking also marks the fifth year that the Scarlet Knights have been ranked at some point during the season. Besides 2007, they also earned rankings in 1961, 1976 and 2006.

My ballot is running late. Hope to get it in sometime overnight.
Texas HS football playoffs/start of basketball season is killing me. Drove over 1,000 miles this weekend and haven't seen all the college scores yet.
