As someone suggested, the time is now to begin the hot stove talk.

Where will Reyes land? Who will fill managerial openings? Will the Yankees extend Sabathia through 2027? How much faster will Cardinal games go without LaRussa bringing in his entire bullpen every game?

This is the place for it. Have at it, kids.

    Pujols - Nats
    Fielder - Cubs
    Reyes - Giants
Sabathia - Yankees (if he settles for 1 extra year. If Texas or Boston go longer than that,Cashman says good bye, unless he's overruled - see Arod, Soriano - by ownership)
    Wilson - White Sox

WaPo says the Nats will kick the tires on Grady Sizemore. I haven't heard his name in I don't know how long. Is he still good?

He's a reclamation project. He was good not that long ago and has been derailed by injuries and a low batting average. Guys like that aren't bad bets to bounce back. But I think a lot of teams will see that in him.

It's already been posted (and bandied about) on the general baseball thread, but just re-posting here for administrative purposes:

Braves trade Derek Lowe to Cleveland for minor-league reliever Chris Jones. Atlanta will pay $10MM of the $15MM Lowe is owed for 2013 2012, the final year of his contract:

    http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/7174095/atlanta-braves-trade-derek-lowe-cleveland-indians

Clearly a salary dump for Atlanta, and a low-risk move for Cleveland.

Atlanta has also elected not to exercise the option on Nate McLouth, paying him a $1.5MM buyout:

    What about Mark Buehrle?

Also, MLB Trade Rumors now has the list of Type A and Type B free agents up.

Wait - was that THE Chris Jones?

In other news - JD Drew has filed for free agency.

Pujols isn't going anywhere. Go somewhere else and the raging dickitis gets noticed.

I would love to see Fielder end up with the Cubs, b/c I guarantee you Lord Theo's defenders are going to say the bad contracts in Boston were ownership-caused. I'd love to see the spin on him signing a fat first baseman to a seven-year deal in the NL.

No, this Chris Jones was not in the AL East.

I wouldn't be surprised if Theo traded for Kevin Youkilis to play 1st base or at least made an offer. If Oriz comes back to Boston - Youk will probably be on the trading block.

That makes sense. Youkilis seems to have proven that he can't play third base every day and stay anything resembling healthy.

And if the Cubs don't sign Fielder, will you stop banging the FAIL FAIL FAIL drum?

If you know something the rest of us don't regarding which Boston free agent decision was made by whom, please let me know, either on this thread or via PM. You seem utterly, 100 percent convinced every bad decision falls on Theo and that he deserves none of the credit for winning two titles.
