Gotta imagine the list includes Chicago, Golden State and Houston.

So this isn't happening until the offseason basically. Unless Houston comes up with something IMO.

Davis and the Pelicans might be working together a little more. He wants to be a Laker. The Lakers aren't offering shit. Davis asks Pelicans what they can do to get him where he wants, they tell him that the Lakers need to come correct with a serious trade offer. And they agree that he expands his list of destinations and that would probably force the Lakers hand.

So if it doesn't happen by Thursday. It isn't happening for the Lakers at all IMO.

I always wonder why players tip their hands and let it get out that they won't resign with a team. It immediately deflates their trade value making it LESS likely they will get dealt. You would think players would let the front office know and give them a couple of months at least to make a deal before they go public. Nobody wins once it gets out.

Yeah this might work. Only way this doesn't work is if Boston decides they are going to go all in on 2019-2020. Sign Kyrie to a one-year, trade for Davis and see if that pushes them to a title with hopes both will want to come back.

I like it OK enough, if the Celtics have told you that they aren't going to include Tatum because Davis has indicated he isn't going to sign long-term. That trade at least clears the books for the Pelicans, and you have three OK-ish young players. I mean, the Ingram-Ball-Kozma "core" gets you to around 30ish wins in the loaded west, but maybe one of them develops more if you just give them the ball and say, "Here, shoot 20 times a game."
