Can someone explain why the idiot announcers started harping on Daniel Hudson's pitch count at pitch number 9?

Also, can someone tell me why TBS' broadcast (not streaming) had a 30-second delay? I stupidly looked at Twitter in the 8th inning and found out Hudson had gotten out of the jam a full 30 seconds before they showed it. I double checked to make sure I hadn't accidentally hit pause on my TV or something.

It's not unique to TBS. In 2014 World Series, I turned on the radio to hear the local call of the Giants winning and found out about 30 or so seconds ahead of the TV broadcast that a ball got by Gregor Blanco and put the tying run on third against Bumgarner.

I think it's a product of a natural delay built into the broadcast in case they need to kill mics and the delay caused by routing the signal to satellites to finally be distributed to customers.

Boston flagship station Weei, in 04, timed their broadcast to the game. It was great.

Mike Williams (the All-Star with the 6 ERA) also says hello.

I did some thinking on this over my walk and in terms of pure shitshow, maybe Bob Wickman's blown saves were the worst.
I remember a time when the late, great, normally professorial Pete Van Wieren suddenly blurted out in the midst of a Wickman BLSV: "Oh, this is horrible!"
Rodney and Valverde would throw pecker-high, poker-straight 100 mph heat and couldn't locate a strike anywhere else.

Are the Nationals just happy to be in the World Series and get rolled? Or are they playing with enough house money to have no pressure and win it? Or, as Earl Weaver may have said, momentum is tomorrow's starting pitching

They are the 5 seed in their half of the bracket, having beaten the #1 and #3 seed
