As Reggie Dunlop said long ago, there are a lot of old geezers down there who really miss a Saturday night game . . .

Having a great team does not mean you have a legitimate market.

Those computer boys set this team up for success and the only thing Dale Tallon did was set up Vegas to be good from the start.

This is true. My point is that if ever this franchise was popular and/or financially viable, it's now. I also suspect that some of the problems with the Panthers are bigger than the ownership. We're talking about a team that plays in a notoriously bad sports city in an outlet mall 40 miles away from South Beach. They've probably fared as well or better as any ownership in that situation.

Toronto blocked Hamilton before. The franchise was given to Ottawa despite having an inferior proposal. Toro
Toronto already blocked Hamilton when the franchise was granted to Ottawa and yeah, Buffalo would feel it more. But GTA (Greater Toronto Area) has almost 20% of Canada's population so it could easily support two, maybe three teams.

Rumored since early season. The Red Wings were thought on the verge of edging close to playoff contention, but instead took a dump.

    Those playoff thoughts were premature

I don't understand why Kansas City is not considered. It is a bit smaller than Portland but it would not ahv eto compete with the NBA in the winter. The arena is relatively new and I think is OK for hockey.
