Used to be that at this time of the sports calendar, Nike ads would be all Olympics-oriented. This ad, which was awful, is a warning sign that naturally the IOC will never see.

Absolutely. Save them for warmups and the skills contests. Use the team uniforms for the game.

Unless I missed it, no acknowledgement whatsoever of baseball's history, no honorary captains, or passing of Hank Aaron or Tom Seaver.

Yeah there was a big thing on Aaron before the game. Brought his wife out and had a tribute right after the introduction of the teams. Right field has 44 etched into it.

The NL uniforms are ugly, but some of the AL ones are pretty good.

I’m in my second year of being pissed off that MLB spread its cheeks for that Nike check and allowed the swoosh on the shoulder blade instead of on the sleeve where it belongs, so being pissed about this didn’t even register.

I believe all the Home Run Derby guys wore No. 44, too.

    Aaron was saluted plenty.
I was surprised they allowed that Republican propaganda commercial about how the Democrats screwed Atlanta out of the All-Star Game.

Well it was on Fox, right?

Yeah. I didn't think of that. And when I saw it previously it was on a Fox regular telecast.
But it seems critical of MLB, so that's why I wondered without realizing what network it was on.
