Because a national championship in baseball is way bigger than any NCAA title in swimming or equestrian?

Freeze has no shot. As Steven Godfrey (Banner Society/SB Nation/Podcast Ain’t Played Nobody and Split Zone Duo) has pointed out, the new AD — while at Miss State — partnered with Dan Mullen to get Freeze and Ole Miss popped with the NCAA.

Dan Mullen never should’ve left Starkville.

That’s good stuff. National folks seem to be repeating his name.

Surely no one involved with Southeastern Conference football would prove to be a hypocrite!

I don’t think Kiffin goes anywhere.

You have to leave if a prime job comes open. You’ll get paid and you’ll always have the answer if you could have done it at that level.

Mullen already was in the SEC and making $3-4 million living in Starkville where I'm guessing the buck goes farther. If he wanted to live in New Orleans, I'm sure some booster would've loaned him a private jet to go back and forth. Florida fans' expectations are unrealistic. And you also have to live among all the Florida (Wo)men.

Once you have been an SEC-level head coach and survived for five or six years, you should have enough money for several lifetimes. At that point, it becomes understandable if you decide you want to roll the dice and trade in a place with security but no chance at a national title for a place with potentially unreasonable expectations but a championship history.

He's also not bad on TV, even though I had to watch for a while to see who he was, since I didn't recognize him.
