2022 Atlantic Hurricane Season Running Thread

    Well, it's almost that time again.

    The Atlantic hurricane season is two months away, with the official start arriving on June 1, but AccuWeather forecasters released predictions for the coming season this week, noting that there is a high chance for a preseason storm to develop and that another active tropical season is expected. AccuWeather forecasters emphasized that now is the time to prepare, especially since some communities are still recovering from devastating storms over the last couple of years.

    The Greek alphabet has been scrapped if it goes past W, and additional names such as Braylen, Kenzie, and Makayla are there. I guess it's time millennials got in on the list.

    A little surprised to see Gaston used again. That was a storm that caused deaths.

    Also a missed opportunity in that list to follow Bonnie with Clyde.

    There are plenty of U, X, Y and Z names to fill out the alphabet (and an adventurous few of us have submitted possibilities).

    I don't know why those continue to not be utilized.
