    First look.

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...forecast-quieter-season-possible/11648967002/

The likely development of El Niño should bring a "slightly below-average" Atlantic hurricane season, top forecasters announced Thursday at a hurricane conference in Texas. But the forecast also notes a high level of uncertainty.
Meteorologists from Colorado State University predict a total of 13 tropical storms will form, of which six will become hurricanes.

Colorado State meteorologist and lead author of the report Phil Klotzbach said that of the six predicted hurricanes, two should be major hurricanes – category 3, 4 or 5.

AccuWeather says 11-15 named storms, 4-8 hurricanes.
NOAA will release it's forecast in a few weeks.

Hey, I waited two weeks later than I did starting last year's thread. We are seven weeks away from opening day.

Thank god for an El Nino year. Three straight La Ninas has been unbearable, still 10-15 degrees below normal here in the PNW and 2+ times the normal rainfall for the month.

My hope is this year's list of names is so sorry that all the potential storms will refuse to form because they don't want to be named that.

I get that there is a limited number of G names for women, but what I can't figure out is how is Gary not an option on the men's side?

Unisex names should be available like Chris and Pat.
