What do you expect from a minority hire? Serious answers please.

That they will be no different from a non-minority hire.

If I were the boss, I would expect everyone on my staff to work hard all the time, and I would expect them to use whatever skills they had to make the paper better.

 

It is a legitmate question. For example, when the identity of the Virginia Tech killer was found as Korean, papers automatically went to their Asian reporters to get stories. Is that the role those minorities are supposed to play in journalism?
