I would like to know the real story behind the "beaning."

I wonder if Kram Jr. ever found out if there was more to the story. I suspect not, or he would have revealed it.

 

That was terrific - thanks for digging it up jgmacg. There are a handful of connections in this business that have made the endless parade of the mundane palatable, but I must say that several long, generous and completely unexpected conversations with Mark Kram are in that very small pantheon of the worthy and unforgettable.

I'm ashamed to admit that while I suppose I've always known there were two Mark Krams, I've never actually made the distinction when reading one or the other's work. No matter which one wrote it, it was Mark Kram, if that makes any sense, like they were one person, or two people working on the same typewriter. I won't make that mistake now.
