Wanted to share an update since the fun I had back in January.

The last visit to the Mayo Clinic had me quoting Crash Davis "We're dealing with a lot of $hit" and I'll share that info when more of the moving parts have slowed down. I've also discovered the majesty of Warren Zevon and even my family loves the classic "My $hit's F---- Up"

And last Saturday, I pulled off visiting all five of our teams' games/practices that day just to prove I could do the damn thing. Oh yeah, there were also altruistic reasons, but the bottom line is I had to do it for me.

All thoughts/suggestions on the following write and how I'm trying to deal with all my $hit is appreciated and worthy of lunch if you are in Daytona Beach...

That's a great, informative and entertaining read. I'm more of a fan than ever...of the school and the humble scribe.

Enjoyed your story ... you're the kind of reporter I would have hired back in the day.

I did something similar as SE of a weekly. Many days and nights, several local teams played at the same time. I wanted to cover all of them, or at least make an appearance.

One night I covered 7 events (4 hoops, 2 hockey, ski jumping) on both sides of the river and wrote a (very) long story about the adventure with lots of photos.

Another night I made it to 6 hoops games and wrote a (very) long story with lots of photos. I usually had 16 pages so space was never an issue.

    Keep doing your thing, DD.

Enjoyed that very much, especially since I'm old enough to get the Amityville reference. :D Doubleheaders (or tripleheaders, etc etc) are always fun to pull off. If it appeals to you, you know you made the right career choice. Hope you are feeling as good as can be.
