  1. So is Hugh Jackman in this or just a cameo?

    No Colossus?

Jackman's listed in the credits on IMDB. Who knows how big his role will be, though, after seeing the trailer.

As for Colossus, it seems like he's part of the pocket Deadpool universe for now. He's not listed in the credits, and I think part of the reason they let Deadpool have him was because they had no immediate plans to use him in the X-Verse.

Yeah, I don't think we'll get Colossus. This movie, IIRC, is set in the '80s or so. Deadpool was modern day, or close to it.

That is correct. This one is set in the '80s. I'm guessing Colossus would be very young at the time Apocalypse is set.

I got the impression that any part for Wolverine would be small, though I'm not exactly sure why that needs to be the case.

  5. Which set of Xmen are they using?

Or is this a mixed bag of various teams?

The third trailer has me a little more excited, but ... I was never a huge fan of the X-Men books. Wolverine and Colossus were two my two favorites. Never much into Beast, Angel, Gambit, even Cyclops.

That being the case I'm thrilled about this installment. I like Jennifer Lawernece, but Mystique as the leader of this movie?

They haven't really gone with any particular era from the comics. I understand your concerns regarding Mystique. She isn't even close to the character from the comics, or the Rebecca Romjin version.

It looks like the lineup is Jean Grey, Cyclops, Beast, Mystique, Nightcrawler, Quicksilver, Havok and Jubilee. Of course, we've seen that there will be a Wolverine cameo, but that could be very brief.

The choices for the Four Horsemen are a change. Of the four, I believe only Angel/Archangel has been a horseman in the comics. Magneto and Storm were horsemen in one of the X-Men cartoons (Evolution), but never the books. Psylocke is the fourth, though IMDB also lists actors or actresses for Death and Plague. Death and Pestilence have been names Apocalypse gave to horsemen in the books. Archangel, Wolverine and Gambit have all been converted into his Death at one time or another.

There are also Morlocks, including Caliban, in the cast list.

Like OOP said, it looks like a mixed bag. The changing timelines have allowed them to really reset some of these characters and give us X-on-X battles like the Storm vs. Cyclops fight from the trailer.
As far as Mystique, I think she's earned a top role in the movie universe. She's been a main character since the first movie and has shown her chops as a badass, with both Romijn and Lawrence playing her. Kind of like how some of the characters in the MCU like Hawkeye or Black Widow were unknowns when they made their mainstream movie debuts but grew into familiar faces, Mystique has done that in the XCU.
In fact, IIRC, her, Xavier and Magneto are the only characters who have had a prominent role in all six X-movies, aren't they? I'm not counting Wolverine's cameo in First Class as "prominent."

  8. I wouldn't say she had a "prominent" role in the first few movies.

I'll prolly spend my movie money on the Capt. America movie and catch the X-Men on Netflix or Prime.

They come out three weeks apart. You might be able to watch both in the theater.
Or, if you're slick, find two showings back to back and pay for one and sneak into the other.

Here Marvel goes again, releasing a lot of footage before the movie comes out. This clip makes me think I'm going to like this version of Spider-Man.

Have there been any rumors about doing ANOTHER Spider-Man origin story after Civil War? I really hope not. I don't know how they plan on weaving him into this world, but I really do hope it is just "Here's Spider-Man. You already know his story."

That's pretty much what they've said they're going to do. No in-depth origin story planned for any of the movies.
