All-purpose, running Tim Tebow sucks/is a deity thread!

Go sign a Matt Flynn. Hybrid Tebow as a Wildcat QB who also plays some running back and tight end. Create all kinds of gimmick plays for him at all three positions.

In that kind of role, Tebow can be an effective NFL player for longer than he played in college.

It's a tough call because he is so different. Denver has the 25th ranked scoring offense (not the worst) and somehow McGahee is having a career year, at 30, taking handoffs from this kid. Top 15 now? No. But could he be next season? Yes.

And for what it's worth, Palmer and Rivers are not in the playoffs.

I think, regardless of what happens next week against the Steelers, he deserves to have an entire off-season to work with the Broncos coaching staff on improving his passing. I think the Broncos should see who is available in the draft when they make their first and second round pick, but I would not waste a pick on someone unless you were convinced they were going to be special.

I just think the rush to laugh him out of the NFL is extreme. Blaine Gabbert was truly awful this year, and I believe he's had as many career starts as Tebow, and he played in a pass happy offense in college. This year he played with the NFL's leading rusher and he was still atrocious. Should the Jags just give up and abandon him without trying to improve him in any way?

Are people really convinced, with proper coaching, that Tim Tebow could never even be Alex Smith?

As for Matt Flynn, Kevin Kolb just called and he thinks that's a great idea.

That sounds like a great plan, but I would not sign Flynn. One-game wonders at QB rarely work out as big-contract signings.

Denver has a very good football player. They just need to figure out how to best use him, and sitting him on the bench is not the answer.

If Denver thinks Tebow has done enough to show that he has some NFL potential and want to develop it, he gets the job on a developmental basis. I go back and forth on that. He's had some games where he showed me something, but definitely regressed toward the end of the year.

If they decide they want to try to win football games and go with the best QB they can find, then it won't be Tebow.

Flynn's done this, before. To say the least, he doesn't stuck. He deserves a better fate than staring at AR's ass for a few more years.

Maybe so, but Matt Schaub worked out OK (when he's not hurt). The difference is that all quarterbacks play better under Andy Reid than they do anywhere else.

And I know it was a different era and a different coaching staff, but Packers back-up QBs have a long track record of moving on to success as starters for other teams (Matt Hasselbeck, Mark Brunell, Aaron Brooks).

Flynn is not a one-game wonder. Same guy who nearly beat New England last year on the road when Rodgers went out with a concussion. He's going to be a good starter for somebody.

The Gabbert comparison is not fair. Gabbert is rookie learning on the job. That year holding a clipboard is supposed to mean something. You can't just dismiss it in Tebow's case because it doesn't fit your defense of him.

He's an intriguing prospect. Not good enough of one to just be handed the job, but enough of one that it wouldn't be awful if they decided they wanted to give him a long-term try.

I think Tebow as a passer is a square peg in a round hole. Sure, he is going to have to throw the ball some, but the perfect Denver offense would be him only throwing the ball 15 times max.

Focus on what this kid does well. Find the next Kordell Stewart or Antwaan Randle El and have the two of them line up together.

Right now the NFL is building lineups to defeat the five-wide. Those teams will not be equipped for a run-first team.

I am convinced that he can never be as good as Alex Smith, yes.

I watched two full games of his, start to finish, Chicago and Kansas City. He was awful in both. Just plain awful.
