I'm looking to open up one of those family accounts, so me, my wife and (eventually) my son can use it.

Is one any better than the other?

Thank you in advance for your input

Absolutely love Spotify. And it has a free tier.

Spotify is better for creating playlists and giving you ability to discover new music, from what I understand.

I believe both offer a three-month free trial.

I use Spotify and love it.

My son uses Apple Music and loves it.

I pay 10.99 a month with my Quicksilver credit card but I get half of that back as a credit every statement. I think both are probably pretty good, just a matter of preferences.

Big Spotify fan, but I really don't know if Apple is better. One way or another, be sure to get the car hookup that allows you to play your cellphone through the radio speakers.

I have Amazon Prime so I use Amazon Music plus the unlimited upgrade. Could be an option for you.

Nothing good on Canadian radio, Elliotte?

Stingray Music on my Rogers cable package is awesome background music. I am partial to the Jazz Masters and Blues stations but there is always some good listening on there.

I may be the last person alive who listens to AM/FM radio (not talk stations), and even then, only in the car.

Does either Apple Music or Spotify have DJs?

While Apple Music, Tidal, Spotify and others all pay a fraction of a cent per stream, Spotify's per-stream compensation is notoriously low compared to its streaming competition. Recent estimates put Spotify's pay-per-stream at approximately $0.0038. By comparison, according to Forbes, Tidal streams yield $0.01 per play, while Apple Music compensates at $0.0064 per stream.

Wixen's $1.6 Billion Spotify Lawsuit: What You Need to Know

Randall Wixen added in his statement Tuesday, Spotify has more than $3 billion in annual revenue and pays outrageous annual salaries to its executives and millions per month for ultra-luxurious office space in various cities. "All we’re asking for is for them to reasonably compensate our clients by sharing a minuscule amount of the revenue they take in with the creators of the product they sell," he said. "Music fans should be able to enjoy Spotify, knowing that their favorite artists are being treated fairly."

    Raises hand.

Although that may change, since the local AM news/talk station replaced John Batchelor (intelligent talk on a wide variety of subjects) for ANOTHER right-wing screech show (Mark Levin). My 25-minute drive home at night is much less interesting now.
