    Description:

    The Gazette sports staff covers more than 90 high schools in three counties with its weekly editions and daily web content. It has an opening for a highly-organized and experienced editor to help direct the staff of eight.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    * Alternate with sports editor editing and posting game stories to the web

    * Assist in editing and proofing the print stories for seven editions

    * Assist in planning the week’s coverage

    * Manage the freelancers, including assigning and paying and ensuring the department stays within its budget

    * Fill in for the sports editor as needed

    * Write two stories per week covering the college beat

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE

    College degree or equivalent experience required.
