Kuntz is a very common name near where I live. They pronounce it "koontz." I also went to high school with a couple of brothers whose last name is Cox. Their dad's name is Harry.

There's a construction company northwest of Toronto called James Dick Concrete. Every time I pass by their plant and see their sign, I look to see if they've added a catchy slogan like "Dick Concrete Is Rock Hard." Unfortunately, I go away disappointed every time.

I went to high school with a guy whose last name was Milosevic. Granted, this last name wasn't bad until about 1992 or so.

This kid kind of faded off into our high school's counter-culture early on ... Mike Hock.

    I think I know why.

Used to know a guy whose last name was Glasscock. He was a quiet older man.

Once watched a kid about melt from embarrassment during intros for a middle school event that brought low-income kids from metro Detroit together. He was a suburban kid, and when he said his last name, "Roach," some of the city kids laughed out loud. The adult running the event just shifted, quickly, to the next kid in the line up.

Went to school with a kid whose last name was Horr.
By HS, it was legally changed to Shorr. Guy's sister took a lot of shit.
Of course the biz's best name is Peter Schmuck.

There's a sherrif around this parts with the name of Mike Hunt.

The night city editor said it out loud one night and it was the first time I heard it. I put my head down on my desk and chuckled till I turned blue. She saw me and scolded me as being immature but it's one of the best laughs I've ever had.

She could have made it "Johnson," instead, it seems to me.
