Baker Mayfield vs. the media

Discussion in 'Journalism topics only' started by Col. Nathan R. Jessup, Jan 8, 2022.

  1. This news is a few days old by now, but I figure it’s worth a thread.

One could tie this in with Aaron Rodgers publicly calling out Boomer Esiason’s alleged scoop that Rodgers would potentially sit out the Super Bowl, but Esiason is just a talking head whereas Cabot is as respected as any NFL beat writer.

Mary Kay's been covering the Browns since before Mayfield was born. She has much credibility, he has none. If he was playing well and they were in the playoffs, he'd be coming on like best buddies to her.

Baker has a right to answer … the guys on the podcast are admitting as much.

But going against Mary Kay Cabot is a mistake. For her to have accomplished what she has over the years with a franchise embroiled with the level of dysfunction the Browns have exhibited, the guess here is she dots her i’s and crosses her t’s.

But I think Mary Kay is still a good egg …

Someone from Cleveland PR needs to take Baker Mayfield aside and explain to him that no matter how many times Mary Kay Cabot writes about him, she doesn't get more "food on her table." Fucking tool.

Baker got creamed by a Fayetteville cop. He loses automatically.
