Brandon Phillips should return his game check to the front office.

    EDIT: So should Griffey.

Think the Twins are glad they didn't pony up to take Mark Prior No. 1?

That supposes they'd have ridden his arm the way the Cubs and Dusty Dumbass would have. Does anyone think Prior would have half the problems he does pitching for a team that didn't abuse the hell out of him at a young age?

Marlins get rung up 16 times for second time in three games.

Matsui's departure already having a positive effect on the Mets lineup. They throw up a 10-spot. 4-1 so far on this 10-game road trip. *Looks over shoulder for Braves...can barely see the headlights*.

BTW for all the knocking of Randolph, and I'm occasionally part of that bunch, the team is 14 games over .500.

Yeah, but it's too bad the only non-Yankee/Red Sox player to start for the AL in the All-Star Game will be Vlady. Like there's no other talented players outside those two markets.

And wiht Moddy's guy bopping th Phils in the 11th, the NL East lead is back to 5½.

a 4-HR night for Carlos --- 2 each by Beltran and Delgado, plus 1 by Wright.
3-4-5 in the order had 8 hits, 5 HRs, 8 RBI and 7 runs scored.
Even Willie can't fuck that up, noles.

Fuckin crap. They're going to end the Braves' streak, aren't they?

That's OK. Wait for the playoffs. Willie's ineptitude will be revealed then.

What's that? The other managers of the NL contenders are Tony LaRussa, Jerry Narron, Bob Melvin and Grady Little? Crap. Maybe Ozzie Guillen or that other guy from the Subway commercials will outwit Willie in the World Series.

You mean Jared? Or Jon Lovitz? "Eat fresh!"

hahahahahah I'd take either of those guys against Willie.

Though I can imagine Jared would probably lower clubhouse morale, what with him nitpicking the postgame spread. "I wouldn't eat that, Carlos. Too much trans fat. Carrots are good post-game snacks!"

Chris Young: 12 whiffs in six innings tonight.

    NICE TRADE, RANGERS!!!!

  12. The two offseason moves that immediately had me scratching my head wondering WTF?

    1. The Rangers trading away Chris Young who has ace-type stuff

    2. The A's signing Estaban Loaiza to a 3-year $21 million deal

I still don't understand the thinking behind either of these moves.
