The Champ, when Jon Voigt dies and Ricky Schoeder loses it. I cried like a little bitch. I was 8. I ran to my room and then my mom yelled at my dad for letting me watch the movie.

TD... The Thing did continue in comics. I'm betting you might be able to find them on eBay (I will go and search when I'm done with this post).

Halloween... what can I say? Seeing it on opening night at a packed house was the second-best atmosphere I've ever experienced in a theater, topped only by the audience standing and cheering during the first four Rocky movies.

That soundtrack is incredible, by the way. I have it on CD.

Will definitely check out Prince of Darkness... thanks!

Which system made the video game? PS2 or XBox (crossing my fingers it's PS2!)

I've got two nominations, both courtesy of the same fine actor:

Richard Harris in The Wild Geese
    Richard Harris in Orca

Great line from George Kennedy there, too: "My father went the same way."

EDIT: sorry for the D_B, someone else mentioned that line too.

If I were to watch that now, I'd probably still bawl.

And this is going to draw the wrath of many a-feller here, but I couldn't stop the waterworks at the end of The Notebook. James Garner and Jenna Rowlands were outstanding. That's the way I want to die, right next to the girl I love, who dies right next to me, so that we may die together, holding hands. Fantastic movie. And yes, it's a chick flick. I guess I was feeling my estrogen side that night.

I'll back you up on that one X, since I went through the same thing. Took time out of my bench presses and raw meat eating to see The Notebook at the theatre with my wife. Not only did I bawl like a 6-year-old girl at the end of that movie, but we sat behind an elderly couple and they just held each other at the end, weeping all the way through through the end credits, and it sent me even further over the top. I made my way out of the lobby as quickly as I could.

    Catching up here:

Halloween: He didn't kill the old lady, just scared the heck out of her. He killed Alice in the living room when she dropped the phone and went to the door. That was an interesting scene though.

The Thing was released on PS2 a while back, 2002 I think.

BTW: I rewatched The Thing last night, still freakin awesome and Carpenter's The Fog was on Sci-Fi today. No great death scenes in that one unless you count the Pirate daggers to the eyes!

True, but for a sophomore slump, it wasn't that bad.

The Fog was a great movie. Underrated in my opinion. It had a creepy soundtrack and a great twist to it (well maybe not a twist since it came in the middle of the movie). It's also in my top 10.

It's no Big Trouble in Little China, though. :D
