Big Brother 8 running thread

Whoever does Hamsterwatch.com cracks me up.

For the past two season's I've read it (s)he has threatened to quit doing the site, gotten pissed at the CBS producers and editors and basically has seemed on the verge of breakdown him/herself due to the extreme emotional investment in the show and the characters. It makes great reading, but I worry about the author.

I saw that. I love the show, but this guy seems like a forking lunatic...

OK, let me preface this by saying this is a SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, now that we got that outta the way. As was mentioned above, Jessica nominated deck and Daniele.
Well, they held the contest Saturday morning and deck won the POV and plans to use it on Daniele.
Now, here's the twist: Dustin, being the overconfident assmonkey that he is, has told Jessica to put him on the block, next to deck as the replacement nominee. I didn't think it would actually happen, but now it appears it's a foregone conclusion that Dustin will replace Daniele on the block. Apparently, Dustin has a speech worked out where he can insult deck.

Here's where it gets interesting: There's six people voting this week (Jessica, Dustin and deck can't vote ... so the voters would be, once she's removed, Daniele, Jen, Zach, Jameka, Amber and Eric).

Daniele would obviously vote to keep her dad. You would have to assume that Jen and Zach realize that their only hope is deck and Daniele's group, so they'd likely vote to keep deck. Obviously Jameka and Amber would vote to keep Dustin.
The deciding vote? Eric or, more accurately, America. Check out any popularity poll and Dustin is near the bottom, while deck is near the top. Eric's vote would be to evict Dustin and it'd be 4-2 in deck's favor.

Again, this all hinges on the fact that Jen and Zach need to realize that their only hope is siding with deck and Daniele. Could you imagine the look on Dustin's face if he goes home? That would be one of the great TV moments of reality history.

I'll be damned. I forgot that America chooses who Eric should vote for. But is this the one time that he goes against the suggestion?

I completely think he's got to wait for one more task to get his $5k. That's not a risk worth taking.

In the last couple of weeks, he hasn't been given the opportunity to vote. Each time he comes into the booth and says hello and then leaves. The vote automatically goes the way America tells him to vote.

This should be interesting.

Okay, so you're saying that this is one case where he doesn't get a choice...

That's interesting. I didn't realize that. That explains a lot.

What confuses me about Eric is that he came to Danielle's defense in one instance and absolutely shat upon Amber in another instance. Then he warned deck about picking a fight with him. That makes me think he really wanted to side with deck's squad. Perhaps that time has passed.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think he HAS to vote the way America says. Could be wrong. The past weeks he hasn't voted because he's "agreed" with America's vote or at least agreed enough to fulfill a task. I think he can choose to vote another way.

But it hasn't appeared in any of the weeks that Eric has been given a choice to vote against America. Julie never asks him if that vote is OK. She and him just talk about the weather or some shirt. I think America has the final say on his vote, because he's been unhappy before (when he had to vote to keep Kail vs. Nick).

There was part of me that thought Eric did it like that so he wouldn't technically be lying when he said he didn't vote to evict Kail both times...

How stupid not to put Zach or Jen up...

So, it appears the Dustin thing hasn't amounted to much more than talk. It clearly never went past him mentioning it while drunk in the pool. But Eric is somewhat convincing. I guess we'll see what happens.
