    UCLA has had enough!

    Don McLean will no longer be receiving the George and Ira Gershwin award because of a domestic violence conviction that everyone knew about three years ago.

    Don McLean Is Not Happy UCLA Is Rescinding His Award

    Guess he won't be getting his chance to make those people dance.

    I was the beat guy back then. Knew him well. His high school coach, too. He wound up at Pepperdine when UCLA tried to put him on staff and the AD said, “He’ll no.”

    That UCLA team was stacked IIRC, McLean, Pooh Richardson, Trevor Wilson and Greg Foster. I was at Pauley and saw them beat Payton and Oregon State.
