Canadian Idol Thread

Canadian SJ members, it's back! Canadian Idol starts tonight with a 90 minute show.
I thought that I would start a thread so we can talk about it.

I have a question though....are any American/Global SJ members going to follow CI? How do you watch it in the States?

 

I didn't know there was a Canadian Idol.

Can we get Elliotte to be a judge? Please please please please please?

 

Most of us can't. We'll have to settle for Grapes being our Canadian Idol

 

From the Canadian Idol Wikipedia page:
"Only three women (Theresa Sokyrka, Eva Avila and Melissa O'Neil) have made it to the top 3. Season 1 had no women in the top 3."

That fact seems bizarre.

 

Is Simon a judge for that, too?

 

Canadian Idol contestants will be allowed to use instruments this time around

 

I remember reading somewhere that the CI finalists once did a version of Gordon Lightfoot's "Canadian Railroad Triology." Awesome.

 

Zack Werner is the Canadian version of Simon, correct?

Zack is much better than Simon and he has much more personality. Jake Gold, who is the mastermind behind the Tragically Hip, is another judge. Sass Jordan, who is a Canadian recording artist and Farley Flex, the mastermind of FLOW radio station and urban music are the other judges.

ON the CTV site, the show will be available by broadband.

I am sorry but Elliotte can't be a judge. He needs to be in the music industry.
Also IJAG, Elliotte works for the CBC and the show is going to be on the network competitor, CTV. I figure he would be a much better host than Ben Mulroney though (former CAN PM Brian's son)
