Merry Christmas everyone. Stay safe out there.

Thought I'd kick it off with a classic Christmas tune that is very underplayed.

Thought about going to California for the holidays this year then changed my mind after Thanksgiving. I've already got a Chinese buffet picked out for my Christmas dinner.

MIL and her husband are going out of town the day after Christmas, and I think BIL has to return overseas for work a day or two after as well, so everyone got together for Christmas dinner yesterday. On actual Christmas, the plan is to join up with MIL and her husband for lunch at Waffle House.

Waffle House is our Christmas tradition. Some years ago we had lunch with a bunch of family on Christmas Eve, got home and took a nap, and woke up hungry. We hadn't brought home any leftovers, so we set out to see what was open. Waffle House was it, and a Bat Family tradition was born.
You'd be amazed how busy that place is on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Our family tradition is a huge oyster roast on Christmas Eve ahead of Christmas Eve church service and Bloody Marys on Christmas morning.
My shucking knife is ready, and the vodka is in the pantry.
Last year, we did it on a much smaller scale, and it was honestly way more pleasant.
Oh well, Merry Christmas, happy holidays, and Festivus for the rest of us to my friends here.

Posted this on the Post a Song You're Listening To thread. Not a cheery Christmas song, but good nonetheless.

Picked up Micro Jr. at PDX yesterday, he's home for 2 1/2 weeks. That made a miserable drive to PDX, in the middle of 40hours of continual rain, worth it.

    Happy holidays/merry Christmas, everyone.

2,000 Miles by the Pretenders is my favorite Christmas song, memories of a long-ago romance.

My sister is renting their mountain home through Jan. 1 so I'll be up in Boulder for Christmas. Temps in the mid-50s with zero snow. Bleh.
