Any Enquirer folks around to comment on this policy?

Personally, I would love to have my wife (who has two paid weeks from her place compared with my five) be able to have this sort of option, but I could see a sarcastic, skeptical take on it, too.

A few folks took this option when it was offered at a previous shop about 10 years ago. I guess not enough people did, because we had a wage trim and then freeze that lasted for more than two years.

Sounds like something I might go for occasionally, considering I'm stuck at the two weeks level right now.

If you take an unpaid leave, do you qualify for unemployment?

I once worked at a place where our union agreed to mandatory two weeks unpaid leave to save jobs. We were eligible for unemployment.
