    I wish I had bookmarked the article I read recently about China. EV's are a rapidly increasing percentage of all vehicles on the road there. Something on the order of 30% of all taxis are now electric. Electric scooters and trikes are very popular for urban commuters. They are pushing hard to increase electric freight trucks. Adoption by the biggest polluters will help cut into CO2 release.

    China EV goes back several years when Beijing made significant investments in several foreign automakers' production there. At the time China was losing something like 6-7% of its GDP output to pollution-related illness. Also, U.S. activists in the PNW for years have been making it harder for coal to move to ports for export to China.

    If we could just convince the Republicans that China is pulling ahead in the EV race...

    Worth noting that China gets most of its thermal coal from Australia in long term contracts.
