Your take is a false take, and so is Moore’s. It turns out you can’t just blatantly steal creative work from others without permission.

Climate wise, it has been miserable in my neck of the woods. It sucks just walking outside from about 9:30 a.m. - 9:30 p.m.
It's been in the 90s with the humidity through the roof and no rain in weeks.
Grass and small trees are dying. Impounded water is down feet from the shoreline.
It's the textbook definition of extreme weather, and it's not even August.

Yeah, we went from a classic spring wedge (cool air pushing westward from the Carolinas) that lasted unusually late -- halfway through June -- to the typical heat dome/high pressure ridge that's stuck right over western North Carolina. There's no breeze whatsoever and whatever hit-and-miss thunderstorms have missed us. We've seen this pattern more often in the past decade, it seems: can't stop raining to can't get a drop of rain for weeks.

I don't know what's out there to push the high to the east, because the jetstream is way north -- basically going through the Great Lakes and Quebec -- and the nearest low is well west of Texas. So we swelter until something gives.

This weekend is typically 90s and miserable. Now we're on track to be low 80s. Possibly upper 70s. We have an event that normally happens around now in town which is the great predictor of a heatwave. Figures the event is cancelled because of Covid and temps are nice. In fact it's really only been miserable in the Bay Area maybe three weeks overall this summer. Of course now I jinxed it.

This is us. It seems like through about April or even May, we had record rain totals with flash flood warnings once a week. Now, it's the freakin desert outside Vegas.

In this part of Virginia, the high temp has been triple digits for the last four days. That's the first time we've had four straight 100+ days since weather service records began in 1874.
