Very curious to see what the CFP rankings committee does if SMU and Liberty both win this week, at least in regards to that G5 NY6 spot. Would an 11-2 SMU with losses to TCU and Oklahoma jump a 13-0 Liberty that would be hanging its hat entirely on being unbeaten and beating New Mexico State twice at home? I don't think LU fans will like the answer.

    Ducks are -9, not +9.

The Mountain West's computer just gave the championship to the loser of the Boise-UNLV game.

    It's the Year of Cruces.

What a great season when 2 of the historically worst D-I football teams -- UNLV and New Mexico State -- are playing for conference titles.

    UNLV: 250–375–4
    Cruces: 440–664–30

30 ties? They might lead the nation in that.

Ties were pretty popular back in the day. Celebrated sometimes, even!

Navy and TCU lead with 57 apiece. USC and Georgia each have 54. Twenty-three teams have 50 or more ties.

The quote they used from John McKay after seeing that USC was going for the win on the Palouse ...

SMU probably gets in. But it's a tricky one without Preston Stone playing for the Mustangs.

And what if Toledo looks dominant? Could they jump Liberty.

I don't think so. Had Toledo beaten Illinois, I'd say yes.
