colorado camping

    taking my teen nephews camping and whitewater rafting in a couple of weeks in colorado. any tent camp spots to stay away from?

    Not sure where it's at, but if this fella is on the front porch ... well, I'd say you find a new camping spot.

    What part?
    Currently, some parts of Colorado are under a fire ban. It sucks! Bring your field rations.
    Take your bug repellent and rain gear!

    Virtually the entire state is under a fire ban.

    BRING BUG SPRAY!

    When I went camping in Colorado, the bugs were so thick you pretty much had to bushwack through them. If you're near a river or any other type of water, you'll probably have this problem. One night when eating my dinner, I caught three mosquitoes on my fork between the bowl and my mouth. When I peed, I shot them down out of the air.

    I suggest investing in some 100 percent DEET. That's good stuff.
