But if Howry had fired the ball, the guy would have just swung his arm and knocked it into the bleachers.

Would the Wrigley-faithful throw it back or keep it?

Why is that "security guard" wearing a batting helmet? Is he afraid Howry is that bad at throwing a pitch?

Beckett is indeed in line to start the All-Star Game on regular rest.

That said, I'd go with Haren. To dominate like he has and not have a bad day in two months in the AL is remarkable.

Are you dense? These guys sit close to the action, in the open. And since part of their job is keeping their eyes on the crowd, their eyes aren't always on the field of play. I know if a baseball is ever rocketed at my head, and I'm not looking, it'd be nice to have a helmet.

For clarification, the ass I wanted kicked was Howry’s at first … But that feeling went away quickly.

Thanks for following me around in threads. But I know officers at the Bank and places sit close to the action but do not wear helmets. I just found it different because I never saw anyone ever wear batting helmets when on security detail.

If they really want to look tough they should wear a catcher's helmet/mask combo

Just like you know someone from West Virginia, so that allows you to make fun of the whole state? But way to employ Boots' "Stop following me" defense. Asshat.

What do you think happened to the dude's shoes? Was he wearing flip flops, and he thought they would slow him down?
