Dane Cook, you're not funny

I was being sarcastic.

 

The last two pages have been nothing but sarcasm.

 

Yes ... but Dane Cook is painfully unfunny. That part is completely true.

I'll gladly jump on the Mitch Hedberg is unfunny bandwagon. Never made me laugh.

 

Hedberg sort of reminded me of a modern version of 1970's George Carlin with flakey observational humor. Pop in Carlin's first HBO special and put in his most recent and its amazing that it's th same person.

"Carlin at Carnegie," which I think is the first HBO special of which you speak, is for my money the best standup set ever filmed. I've seen it so many times, there are bits and pieces that are just part of my vocabulary. I don't even realize I'm quoting it.

 

George Carlin is a fucking genius.

 

After the drudgery that was the NHL All-Star Game, I flipped over to watch the Dane Cook special because I wanted to see if I was wrong for not liking his act.

I was right. Dane Cook is absolutely dreadful, completely unfunny.

 

I have no particularly strong feelings about Mitch Hedburg, pro or con.

But he's funnier right now than Dane Cook has ever been.

Dane Cook is comedy for people with no sense of humor. He's sort of frantic and makes dick references, so people with no sense of humor assume he's funny. He's not. He's dreadful.
