Dane Cook, you're not funny

Demetri Martin is a lot better than "not bad," but only if you see his act. He uses a lot of visual aids, so just hearing an audio track doesn't do him justice. Funny, funny dude. And I'm a Gaffigan fan, as well.

Glad to see this thread back up top. I love talking stand-up.

Actually, the first I heard of Demetri Martin was his "These Are Jokes" CD. I was hooked from there.

But have you seen him do the stuff from "These Are Jokes"? Because it's 10 times funnier when you can see those jokes.

Demitri reminds me of Mitch Hedberg because of his mastery of the one-liners. But he's so much more than that, it's incredible. He's never going to be a Carlin -- few will -- but for my generation, this guy is going to be near the top of the list.

I love Gaffigan mostly becaue of his self-deprecating humor with his weight, his appearance and his laziness. Sometimes his critic voice is overused, but he reminds me of Jerry Seinfeld with a twist, and I dig it.

    I don't think he's funny neither.

I watched him on Comedy Central last night. I never laughed.

I think of Joe Rogan sermonizing to other comedians, and I have this strange urge to rip his head off. I don't know why.

His critic voice -- is that the high-pitched voice where he sounds like a gay ghost? I do so hate that, and he just will not stop.

Lots of comedians aren't funny. What makes Dane Cooks so objectionable is that he seems to be so in love with himself while being unfunny.

Yeah, that's the voice. He's had two Comedy Central spots. The voice went over so well in the first one because he used it sparingly. So when Comedy Central gave him an hour show the next time -- double the minutes -- he loaded up on it. And by the time you got to the end, though you probably didn't make it there, it got to be very annoying. But I love his jokes, so I can get past the voice.
