Apparently this was all the rage on Twitter today.

I know this first tweet looks benign but it is the start of an epic thread listing every reason being middle aged and single is the danger zone.

He’s talking about 50-year-olds trying to mess with college girls?

Not that I was in the market for a demotivator, but cool.

I had that thought as well. Is it just presumed that dating women your own age is off the table? Does society just take newly divorced, middle-aged men going on some late-term rumspringa as an article of faith?

I mean, when you’re a former NBA player and your son is Steph Curry, you not exactly hittin’ the club in search of Stiffler’s mom.

    That thread is amazing.

And Sonya Curry is a pretty remarkable 57.

I covered Seth's one season at Liberty, and my discussions with Dell were ... uh, something. Dude was a space cadet. And he totally tipped his hand after Seth's final freshman year game that he was transferring, allowing me to break that story. Didn't say it outright, but he said enough that I started digging immediately.

I just celebrated 25yrs with my wife and am so grateful for her love; most priceless gift I could ever imagine.

I’m Dell’s age. I’ve told my buddies who divorce, I understand life’s too short to be miserable.

one night before hoops about 6 of dudes are talking about going out and dating. That’s the last thing I want to be doing now.

Think about it, in a relationship looks are what 10%? There is soooo much more to it.

If it's a crazy, toxic, abusive relationship, by all means, jettison yourself out of there.

but the dating pool is a shallow poisonous little puddle. Do not dive in. The concussion is not worth it.

I separated from my ex in March 2013 and the divorce was finalized the following year. This summer was the first time I made any halfway serious attempt at putting myself out there (i.e. an online dating profile.) Pitched a shutout except for one woman, who I already knew because we’d been in a study together at church. We met for coffee one Friday after work and had a lively, enjoyable conversation for well over an hour. But neither of us felt any chemistry, as we quickly confirmed via app messages that weekend.

I don’t miss my ex, and half the time I don’t miss being in a relationship. But eight years is a long time to go without physical intimacy of any kind.
