Digital Journalist — Perform Group, Charlotte

Perform is seeking a Digital Journalist to join its Charlotte-based U.S. News team.

To put a finer point on it for this group, we are looking for someone with at least a year or two of experience, preferably including some copy editing. This person will work mostly nights and weekends after training is complete and must have strong news judgment and the confidence to make calls on what is and isn't a story — and then successfully write that story or line-edit a colleague's. This is mostly an aggregation/curation position, but there will be opportunities for original content and occasional on-site coverage here in Charlotte or elsewhere.

We're an international company, so please be sure to mention any experience/expertise with sports that go beyond the core U.S. offerings — particularly boxing/MMA — as that could come in handy for us.

There will be video-related aspects to the job, including sourcing video and potentially booking freelance videographers for event coverage, but this position is more editorial-focused.
