Do you shoot?

93,

A lot of great candid moments there. Love the way you framed the photo of the kid with the face paint on.
And thanks for the fireworks compliment. I'm actually surprised they came out so well. Can't wait to get back out there and do that again.
I'm shooting a wedding today though so, fingers crossed, I'll have a lot of great pics to share here from the shoot. The client is a sportswriter whose fiance was a local news editor and they met at the paper they both worked at together. See? Who said journalism is all bad? :)

Thanks

I think candids are my strength. I also have a theory that once you say smile you have almost no chance for a good candid or a good picture for that matter. I just say their name and they usually just keep doing what they are doing.

Also, I don't know how many of you guys out there have your own websites but I recently launched mine (It's mostly for wedding photography but there's a ton of my sports photos there as well.) If you have a free minute, check it out at www.PaulJSpetrini.com and let me know what you think.
I used Wix.com for the set-up but did almost 100% of it on my own without any HTML experience. Luckily they had some templates that were a great starting off point. I like the way it came out, though I'm still trying to find my blogging voice.
I like your site. Be careful with your banner font. The cursive first loaded in Comic Sans MS before changing. If someone doesn't have the font, it might show up as Comic Sans.

Here is my site: http://www.mattlstephens.com/. I lost all of my old posts when I changed to my new server, but I'll live. Tried a gallery for the first time in this setup and like the visual style. Let me know what you think: http://www.mattlstephens.com/photos-mountain-lake-4th-july/

Bikers descended upon Bennington today.

I love your set-up. It works really well for your site and what you're showing off. I particularly love the shot you have as the title image on the left side. That is a great portrait showing you in your element.
As for the photos you've got up there, I'd recommend dropping them down to 72 DPI so that they load a little faster. And I'd probably try shooting those mountains on RAW if you can just so you can try out some of the different white balances and see what you like. Also, try to go a little lower with your exposure just so you can get some more of those details on the mountain in the later shots. Overall it's pretty nice though. :)

Shot a wedding for a couple of journalism colleagues of mine this weekend. I can honestly say the progression I've made as a wedding photographer since my last solo shoot last September is amazing. I posted this on Twitter per the couple's request to give their guests a sneak peek. It's only briefly touched in Lightroom but I like it. Thoughts?

I'll post a bunch more after I go through them in Lightroom but I enjoy what I've done so far. Shooting weddings is a lot of work but it is awesome. :)

Great shot.

It amazes me that people try to take picture like this in the middle of the day.

One quibble, why is the right on her right hand?

That's not the wedding ring, it's a blue ring which I'm guessing was her "something blue."
We were standing out on a dock and I knew I wanted her on the left of the groom with the sun the way it was -- it's a lot more feminine than the other way around-- so I was willing to overlook that small detail.
And, yeah, I had to DRAG them out of the reception for these photos but once we got out there, I showed her a couple of them and immediately thanked me and said how awesome an idea it was. :)

Walked around the West Village today shooting this, that and whatever. I pashed this eatery about the time they sat down and immediately she looked resigned to a meal she had zero desire to eat.

Hey guys,
So I'm going through wedding photos from Friday and came across this one. The bride and groom met at a newspaper so I thought this would be a nice touch to kind of tell their story (though they met at a weekly, I had to use our state's daily to display the correct date of the wedding.)
Thoughts? :)
