Seems awfully upbeat for a story about a journo who now has to lug his stuff around in grocery bags. YMMV, though.

There's a mention of him possibly being homeless because of "boozing," then nothing else about it. That article raises a lot more questions than it answers.

I dislike stories like this. Get the whole story. Someone is homeless there has to be an emotional spot in the story at what put them in this predicament and you have to be upfront with the subject about this before hand. Pretty weak scenes etc. about the subject. Need to have better sense of where they were in life before homelessness and what put them there. I have done quite a few cancer stories and I always tell them "the overall message may be positive say if they beat cancer, but you may have to revisit some tough moments along the way. Are you comfortable with that?" They typically are. The interviews can be tough but the story comes out meh otherwise. Agree that this story has more ? than answers. Left me wanting more.

I'm volunteering this week in a homeless shelter. In some ways it's no big deal. In others, it is mind-blowing. The health problems (mental and physical) these guys have. Many have been locked up for various offenses. Some are vets. Most of them are over 50. I've been thinking about Of Mice and Men a lot seeing these guys go out each day, some are going off to jobs, some to school, others to hospitals, some to the streets. But there is a camaraderie there. And they are very appreciative to have a warm meal at night, their own bed and a roof over their heads.

Reads as if the author may have handled this as the authorities addressed the death of a Spinal Tap drummer: "Best leave it unsolved."
