i have a theory, OOP: it's that you are such a bitter, bitter tiny excuse of a man, who is devoid of ego so much, that you have to turn it on the other way in public so you won't cry like the pussy you are in front of crowds everymiserablefuckingdayofyourpatheticlife. and that the only truly proud moment of your life was when little OOPie's mother admitted to OOPie's daddy that it actually was the sweat that formed on the forehead, which balled up in-between the eyes and ran down the face and ran off the chin off little OOPie before it fell into her mouth that tasted best. yeah, those must have been some brilliant glory years, champ.

Ask the nearly 20 percent unemployed or underemployed. Of course, you'll look for links on that and won't find them because the Obamanation Administration chooses to see such factors as non-existent.

the 1stA doesn't allow you the right to yell fire in a crowed theater.
why would the 2ndA allow you the "right" to fire hundreds of bullets into one?

So the actions of a single US presidential administration are responsible? Not the Global Crash of '08? Not Wall Street? Not the rise of China? Not automation? Not outsourcing? Not excessive profit-taking?

Even with all that: we're still the biggest economy on earth. And still the most well-defended.

It's a global economy, except when it's not.

Sorry MC ... I haven't been indoctrinated. I just hate watching news on the TV. If I can't read it from somewhere reputable (e.g., Drudge or Rushlimbaugh.com), I live in ignorance of it.

Just came across an interesting piece on the CHE. That facet of Obamacare that makes you a full-time employee if you work 30 hours or more? That's the same standard by which your eligibility for various student loan forgiveness programs is calculated. Here's a snippet (sorry, the story's behind a paywall):

I feel really bad for this person. She borrowed $140,000 to pursue advanced degrees in philosophy -- and we all know how remunerative a career in philosophy can be -- and they're not making it easy for her to get those loans forgiven.

You'd think she would have found a tenure-track position somewhere in the course of 18-19 years.

As for the positions, how to calculate prep time is an unsettled issue. Teaching two three-credit courses, you usually work eight hours a week if you include two hours of office hours, but this does not include prep time.
