You really believe the shit you say. Yeah, if you live, at this point, until you're 85 before drawing it. Either that or because of inflation driven up by this presidency, you might get enough to feed yourself. The environmentalists would have made cars and utilities unaffordable - this, oh in maybe 15-20 years.

Not if we are paying low interest rates on debt that was converted into high rates of return.

So is that an excuse for the current federal deficit?

Again: All debt is not equal.

    Paying $30,000 for a $17,000 car: Bad.

Paying $200,000 for a $150,000 education, and you get a six-figure job out of it: Good.

Writing checks to old people for overpriced health care: Bad.

Paying to map the human genome: Good.

The fact is, this "hike" was never discussed alongside "Not one more penny on the middle class." It's political poker.

    It's not a hike.

The CBO did quantify how many jobs were saved, and how much activity it generated. Both were in line with White House estimates:

In a lot of ways, it's a better return than local and state governments get for giving companies all sorts of tax incentives so they'll build a plant (or keep a football team) in town, which also qualifies as stimulus.

I'll agree with this but it's the game that is played by the minority party any day of the week. Not that it's good, but it's all a game of lies anyway. Which is the primary problem. Plus, there is no budget accountability period.

My paycheck post-taxes and my tax refund is lower than it was in 2008 through 2012. No, he didn't.

Over the course of eight years, it will be lower than it would have been without the payroll tax vacation.

Letting old people die: Good ???

    Not exactly.

But Medicare, like all health care, is very inefficient.

And there is no rate of return on the investment. Not like if we were investing in education or infrastructure or research.
