The York Daily Record/Sunday News and GameTimePA.com is seeking a general assignment sports reporter to primarily cover high school sports, dirt-track racing and community sports, including a Division III college.

Strong digital skills, including video and social media, and a digital-first mindset are essential, and candidates should be able to demonstrate a record of online innovation. Candidates should be open to working on different platforms, including podcasts, radio and occasional TV, and be comfortable using metrics, as well as journalistic instincts, to guide coverage decisions.

We are looking for strong storytellers who can go beyond the game story to produce compelling human-interest features, enterprise pieces and issue-based stories, in and out of the sports world. Previous reporting and copy-editing experience is a plus as is a history of long-range enterprise or investigative work.

This reporter will join a veteran, award-winning staff and primarily work night shifts (approximately 4 p.m. to midnight).

Send your resume, cover letter, links to digital work, three writing samples and references to careers@ydr.com. EOE.
