Getting into the Beatles...

At 24, I didn't know much of the Beatles past Yesterday and a few assorted hits.

Then, about three weeks ago, I was doing one of my random Wikipedia odysseys — when I can't sleep, I'll pick a topic and bounce from one topic to the next, ending completely different than beginning — and I stumbled upon Pet Sounds.

After soaking up a bunch of Pet Sounds, which is freaking incredible, by the way, I started on Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Whoa.

And now I just listened to Tomorrow Never Knows and Taxman.

    Whoa.

Isn't Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys?

Thought so. I mean, it is pretty damn good. But still.

As for the actual Beatles, listen to the White album and get back to me.

It also helped inspire Sgt Pepper.

    Well, yeah, duh.

But I started at Pet Sounds and then saw how Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club was influenced by it, how the Beatles wanted to top it, and got onto them...

I'm no idiot, moddy...though I may appear as such...

God only knows why Moddy would say such a thing.

You are not an idiot, so far as I can tell. But you are a kid and today's kids don't know their damn Beatles. Nothing in your post above gave a hint that you knew PS was by the BB.

Dude in Doonesbury finally died a happy man after hearing Pet Sounds on CD.

D'oh, GBNF just posted, but I'll go ahead with this post anyways.

Is Wiki combining the the Beach Boys and Beatles into some kind of British surfer invasion?

I'm hoping the error is due to the bouncing from topic to topic.

Wouldn't it be nice if he didn't, though?

    Exactly, Jeremy.
