Happy Fourth week (end). How are you spending it?

This year is kind of cool because the Fourth is smack dab on Hump Day, which means you can go one of three ways:

1. Take the early weekend and Monday-Wednesday;

2. Start Wednesday and go the whole weekend after;

3. Go 10 days straight from Friday the 29th to Monday the 9th.

 

I'm going 10 straight days...headed to the Keys tomorrow morning for the rest of the week.

 

Neither. I had the weekend off from the day job, working Monday and Tuesday, off Wednesday, back on Thursday and Friday.
But I have two weeks of vacation (OK, so one's a work-related conference. But it's still vacation-like) later this month.

 

What's a holiday weekend?

Sat. June 30 - work desk shift
Sun. July 1 - put in 3 hours on the desk for OT
Mon. July 2 - OFF
Tues. July 3 - work desk shift
Wed. July 4 - OFF
Thurs. July 5-Sun. July 8 - work desk shifts

 

As Ralph Kramden used to say, "To the moon, Alice!"

 

Working.

 

After a rough couple of weeks at work, taking the long weekend starting Wednesday. I'm looking forward to doing a whole bunch of nothing.

 

I'm at the beach right now, been drinking since before noon. No work until Monday.

 

I say "at the beach" in the sense that I can see the beach out the window from here. Being here does not free me from all my professional obligations, however, so I am online doing a little work, taking advantage of a few moments when the children who are also staying in the house are not here.
