    When I was a senior in college, a guy I knew was living with a girl he met on the Internet. She moved halfway across the country to be with him. The guy was thought to be a total loser, not because he was (well, he was a future sports journalists, so it's a given, I suppose), but because he was dating a girl he met in an AOL chatroom. Now that's perfectly normal. Just 10 years ago it was desperate and sad.

    One of my best friends in college married a guy she met in a chat room, and we mocked her constantly. Fast forward 10 years, another one of our group is married to a guy she met on the Net and I've dated more than one guy I met online. Times change. She was just ahead of her time.
