Hope I'm not the only one watching this because it's quickly becoming my favorite show on TV right now.

Brilliant writing and this past episode's closing scene was right up there in edge of your seat viewing.

I've been struggling to get into it. It's a little weird. Although, I did like the full frontal from the girl that plays in the Percy Jackson movies.
Is this supposed to be a one-time series? I can't believe McConaughey would sign up of for a running series, even on HBO. Plus, part of his fit for the show is how scraggly he looks thanks in part to his transformation for Dallas Buyers Club. You know he won't stay that way or want to do it again.

The series will have multiple seasons, but with new story lines and main characters each year. As you implied, that's how they got Harrelson, McConaughey, etc., to sign up.

Yup. The writer/showrunner even said that next season might not even be a murder/police storyline...although then they would have to change the title, so who knows.

As has been said, the end of the last episode was fantastic. I didn't even realize until after that it ended on a massive tracking shot.

Can they make Alexandra Daddario a regular? :D

Saw the first episode and really enjoyed it. Haven't caught up on the rest yet.

True Dectective is the best crafted show on TV at the moment.

The scripts are great, the acting is riveting, the direction is top-notch. For example, watch this past weekend's edition and watch the scene in the coffee shop, then watch as Cohle walks to his truck. The cinematography there is amazing for a very simple scene.

    My favorite show on TV.

Last Sunday's, watched on Monday, was riveting and who knew Beaumont, Texas could be so awesome?

Peel south of I-10 at any point between New Orleans and Houston and there's some crazy shit going down.
