No, Emmy eligibility period runs June-May I think. And Breaking Bad's final season ran August-September.

I think McConaughey will win. It's his last season too...

    Bryan Cranston is a lock.

I'll get a lot of shit for this probably, but McConaughey has been far better than Cranston in comparison. IMO

Far better? You're taking Walter White for granted because of familiarity.

I think both actors are amazing. I do think that Harrelson is getting short shrift though. His performance in "True Detective" has been stellar.

I'd go with Cranston, though I'd also not think someone was dumb for picking McConaughey. Saying McConaughey is far better is nuts.

No it's just that voters will probably bend over backwards to kiss Cranston's ass for posterity. Has he earned it, probably, but looking at them side by side, I think McConaughey's been better.

And, yeah, Harrelson is getting the short end on this one, HC. He's been damn good as well.

    No it's not.

Also, even though I said I'd pick Cranston, I think the idea of trying to compare the two is crazy. Continuing to evolve a character that you've played for numerous seasons and developing a new character are very different. Not sure how you really decide that one is demonstratively better.

Like I said, it was my opinion. It's not nuts to say one was better (by any margin) over the other.

I just happen to think Matt McC's performances throughout this whole series has been better than Cranston's last run as WW in BB. Maybe because it is a new character, I dunno. Just my opinion.

I do think it's a two-horse race tho, as does everyone here I'd bet, between those two if TD does get put into the drama categories and not mini-series. It'd be a shame that someone would have to lose to the other one.

Not saying Cranston was horrible in any way. Let's just say that he's got much stiffer competition to wrap up that character with an Emmy than if TD had waited a year to come out.

I can't imagine anyone having any problem with Cranston or McConaughey winning. Both were spectacular.

McConaughey has a few things working to his advantage. Cranston has already won a few times. It's also likely one of the only times a A-list movie star like McConaguhey will be up for an Emmy.
