According to reports, Heroes wil have 30 episodes, 24 for the regular season and six one-shot episodes that will feature a minor character and give their backstory in the Heroes universe.
Fans will then be able to vote if the minor character gets moved up the line into more of a major role.
I don't think they kill off Sylar, but the mind-reading cop, if the teasers were right, is dead.

I think a lot of the recently deceased characters will turn up in one form or another when they tell the story of the older, first generation of heroes -- Linderman, the Petrellis, Hiro's dad and maybe the invisible man (is his name Claude?).
Of course, from the looks of the previews, next week we're going to have a lot more recently deceased characters. Wouldn't it be a cool twist -- in the unexpected, that never happens on TV way -- if they actually did blow up New York and kill off half the cast?

Yeah, but that show is pinned on Kiefer Sutherland. Heroes doesn't really have one central character that you know, if they don't make it, there's no show. There are great characters and fan favorites, but the show can continue and still be strong if any of them bite it.

No way they kill off Hiro.

    No way.

Jeter has a better chance of getting traded to Pittsburgh.

Unfortunately, I've already read that New York doesn't get blown up. But in the same story, I read that the characters we don't see in this episode aren't necessarily gone, they're just not in the episode. The creator of the show said it's like life, just because they're not there doesn't mean their dead. I can't wait for next season. But i really can't wait for Monday's finale.

How do you feel about the blood and violence shown? I think the sawed off heads might be a little much for a show that is so cartoonish, and a guy reaching into the back of a guy's head.

We don't let their mom watch, so it's all good.

They do seem to be showing more and more of the cutting of heads....they moved in for a close-up when Sylar was killing Ted last night.

The Linderman thing wasn't as bad.

Personally, I think we've seen enough scenes with Isaac's dead body in the background. bleh.

Depends how old the kids are. As I've said before, I've seen much worse in comic books. And I don't mean adult books. I'm talking mainstream stuff like Spider-Man (villian rips Spidey's eye out and eats it) and Justice League of America (Solomon Grundy rips the arm off the newly-human Red Tornado and takes a bite out of it). Not to varios mention DC comics with Black Adam ripping people in half or punching right through their chests or heads.

Speaking of disturbing images, I wonder when we'll see what the woman who casts illusions really looks like. I liked the exchange where Micah told her he knew somebody that ate like she did and he was huge.

"So am I," was her response.

I hadn't thought about her "regular" appearance being an illusion until that point. I was probably enjoying the way that particular actress looks instead. :)

By the way, that is yet another rip-off of X-Men comics. The character Mastermind was intially drawn as fairly young and attractive, but they later showed him to be a scrawny, ugly middle-aged guy.
