Hollywood writers go on strike

    The SAG-AFTRA contract with the studios runs through June 30. Directors Guild of America’s contract also ends that day (talks scheduled to begin May 10; not sure how that will play given that the studios thought they’d have the writers contract wrapped up already).

    Looks like I picked a good time to be old. Whether AI or a human handles my Social Security or Tribune Company pension payments, just make sure the money lands in my bank account each month.

    They announced it was coming back in November, which leads one to believe the writing has been done, they just need to start filming.
