I can't find the damned travel thread, so ... Toronto?

Going in two weeks. Have the airfare and Airbnb lined up. Hockey hall is a must. Will probably do CN Tower, Jays game, but other recommendations for visiting/food/experiences?

Does CBC HQ give tours? I anticipate that the first rounds of the NBA and NHL playoffs will be happening the week I'm there -- is it worth trying to get a (probably traveling alone) ticket to a Leafs or Raptors playoff game?

Leafs tickets are extremely difficult to get, even tougher for playoff games. You wanna pay a fortune for one, go ahead. Same goes for Raptors tickets, especially in the playoffs. There are loads of bars on Front St. that will be packed with people watching the games, always an option.

No idea if the CBC does tours, couldn't find anything on their website.

I work downtown but don't spend much time down here otherwise so I am no help for places to eat.

Shoot, a Leafs playoff game? Hell yes. They've only had two appearances in the last 10 years.

I'm not making anything at ACC a hard part of my schedule but am open for an opportunity. I'm not a fan of either, but am interested in the possibility of getting in the building if the situation is right, even if that means lint-rolling Elliotte's suit. We'll see.

Go see the Scout memorial. Wonderful horse.

Oh, sorry. ... That was Tonto.

Jays tickets, on the other hand, are pretty easy to get based on the crowds for their first five home games, but pretty pricey at face value. Scalpers might be looking to unload good seats for what they can get close to game time.

Never been to the Ripley Aquarium next to the dome and CN Tower but have heard good things about it from those who have.

Bellwoods Brewing is top-notch. WVRST on King Street West for all things encased meats.

All I remember about Toronto is there are about six million Indian restaurants there.

Oh. And the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Tons of great restaurants in Toronto and every time of cuisine you can think of. The CN Tower is stupid expensive (IMO) but if you have a meal in the restaurant on top you can go up the tower for free. Or at least I'm assuming that hasn't changed).

    Brass Rail still open?

Fave thing about Toronto when I used to visit was that at 3 A.M there were still people on the streets everywhere.

And hot dog vendors everywhere. I remember going to Chinatown after last call and ordering 'cold tea' which got you a beer served in a tea pot.

I work right in the heart of downtown and don't see anywhere near as many hot dog vendors as I used to. Front St. used to be lined with them and going to and from a Jays game you always knew which ones to hit.

Brass Rail and the Zanzibar are still open.
