I need to bust a nut and get a laptop

    Get the new MacBook. Runs Windows AND OS X. Already cheap by Apple standards, and if you follow this link to get the "educational discount" then everything becomes cheaper. It is purportedly for students and faculty, but you don't really have to provide any documentation that you are either to get the discount.

    Soooo make up your mind. Do you need to bust a nut or get a laptop? Seems to me the nut-busting would be much easier and less costly.

    Our paper got us all PowerBook G4's in January. They are sweet.

    Only problem is, right now the only thing we can get via Wi-Fi is Internet (e-mail and news server via Wi-Fi are still a work in progress.)
