Idaho Senator arrested in men's room

Not to correct Zeke, but rather to add to the knowledge base hereabouts, the practice goes back considerably farther in time. In fact, the anonymous random hookup's probably been going on since man first learned to feel shame. From Wikipedia, here's one specific term for the practice of such in public restrooms - in use since 1729.

You learn something new every day on this site. I didn't even know airport bathrooms existed in 1729.

Yes. But the wait for flights was extraordinary.

Yeah, I underestimated how quickly this would come down. It seems the GOP is treating Craig like George did Lenny in "Of Mice and Men." They've always knew this was possible ... that he had a bit of a problem, but he was a good shit, never caused any real trouble and you knew he'd get re-elected by the morons in Idaho and he'd sure as hell never pull a Jeffords on you.

Now it's time to put a slug in the back of his head.

Are you attempting to make this website one of those websites you visit for knowledge of bathroom sex locals?

JG -- You are, of course, correct, and I worded that poorly.

Since at least the 1950s, the men's rooms on the WB campus of the U of M have been well-known cruising spots.

Different police departments in different locales take different approaches in dealing with the cruising. On campus, they'll respond to complaints, but they don't do stings or publicize the arrests made there. Their biggest concern is not encouraging any gay-bashing incidents.

I had never heard of the airport bathrooms as a cruising hot-spot.

Frankly, neither pleading guilty to disorderly conduct nor being gay seems like a good reason to force someone to step down from the Senate.

Neither is being a lying, delusional, hypocrite -- apparently.

So why don't they let the guy alone?

Would soliciting anonymous sex in a public restroom meet the standard? No matter what he plead to, he has to answer for what he actually did.

I'll be interested to see if the Minneapolis prosecutors come after him again. One of the stipulations to the plea was that he could not deny the crime that took place.

The charge is actually failure to love, honor and obey thy right-wing fundamentalist overlords.

I just checked. And I can confirm with pretty good certainty that a blustery SportsJournalists.com poster with a knack for self-promotion and a propensity for claiming expertise in thousands of disciplines, did NOT edit this particular wikipedia page.

Sorry for the interruption, though. Please continue with the discussion of the closeted self-hating gay Senator.

Well, I stand corrected. That will bite you in the ass every time. Which may be suitable for everyone, actually.
