    Message Boards - IMDb

This will be the loss of a great resource, they had a message board for every title listed that was a great source of obscure information and shared opinion with surprisingly little trolling. Obviously moderation issues must have been huge, but because this is probably the most useful web site next to Wikipedia I am surprised they couldn't get a volunteer system.

I guess I will never find out where the phrase "where Nellie wore the beads" (buttocks) originated.

Meh, the original thread was posted on the wrong board. Neither sports or news. Still gonna miss it. :(

While I am sorry that the message board is being killed, If you don't know that IMDb is the best, most entertaining, resource for companion watching old media you are missing out.

I find it the best resource for "haven't I seen him/her before?" when watching the movie.

Are they wiping out the boards, or locking them down?

The latter would allow all the user-provided content to be preserved.

The message boards get silly sometimes but they're really the only place to discuss moderately popular to obscure films.

Ignore the really idiotic trolls, and whats the problem?

Fortunately that feature is not going away. You can click on a actor's name and have access to a list of all the media projects past and future he/she is involved in.

Fun fact: Many of the recurring regulars on the three major Law & Order series debuted as guest actors in roles unrelated to their final roles, e.g. S. Epatha Merkerson first appeared as a ghetto mother once, then appeared in 391 later episodes as Lt. Van Buren.

You'd think somebody could start a MovieWiki that could replace the iMDB boards.
